About

Hello there! Welcome to In Lesbians With Books!

In Lesbians with Books started out in January 2009 as a personal blog called I Write, Therefore I am Alive which became an outlet for rants and school problems. It was changed into a book blog because I found myself talking lesser about school, as I was graduating, and more about books I love, books I hate, books I abandoned, my favorite authors, and book hoarding problems.

I am sometimes a writer, but always a reader. I am still venturing—yes, reading can be dangerous—my way to read all the genres existing in the world—even erotica, but I don’t have the guts yet—because I am the kind of reader who doesn’t get the satisfaction in reading books of one genre. I mostly read Classics, Children’s, Fiction, Young Adult, Fantasy and Graphic Novels.

After three years, I decided that the former blog name was boring, I opted to name it In Lesbians with Books.

You probably didn’t get the lesbian thing all about but I’ll fill you in. “In lesbians” is a synonymous phrase for “in love” that is used in the movie, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World (which is totally my favorite comics and film). Hope you’re not thinking of me as a lesbian because I’m not :P

My url (isaw08) is one of my college nicknames that is inspired by Manix Abrera’s popular isaw from his comics, KikoMachine Komix.

Disclaimer: I am not a professional when it comes to writing down criticism or detailed reviewing of certain books. It is me about my experience of reading and writing, and how these things affect and contribute in my life. But if there are authors and publishers who wants me to review a certain book, I am open with it. Just email me at triciagervacio [at] gmail [dot] com. Anyone who stumbles here in my blog, to read about good books, welcome and let us together discover good books!
