March 7: World Read Aloud Day

Hello, guys! This coming March 7 (that’s tomorrow, actually), let us join raising our voice to show our support a world where every person, every child, every teenager, every adult can read! World Read Aloud Day is a worldwide event where we celebrate the beauty of the words that are shared to one another. For me, reading is an awesome experience because it brings me to different places, giving me interesting facts and figures, makes my imagination run wild! Reading is really fun!

With 793 million people worldwide remain illiterate, we need a big change. They cannot appreciate the wonders of literature and words, which is really unfair. Every person in the world has the right to read and write, and to share their words and their voices to change the world. Join us as we raise our voice to show what we support by spreading the word about it, by reading a book to someone, share a book, or have a story-telling event in your area.

The world will be an awesome place to live where all people can read. Let’s join the Global Literacy Movement now :)

Accomplished so far:
• Reached 35 countries and 40,000 participants on March 3, 2010
• Reached 60 countries and all 50 states and 200,000 participants on March 9, 2011
• Preparing for March 7, 2012: Let’s make it a million participants or more!
